good hose March 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's a good hose.
Much better than the cheap plastic-y feeling ones you're always tempted to buy because they're so cheap.
It's rugged, coils easily, even in the cold. It has a little bit of "memory", but not too bad. The fittings are solid enough.
I read another review about dropping boards on it and having it break - I can't say I've ever dropped a board on it, but I would think, at least from the feel of the thing, that if dropping boards on it breaks it, then those same boards would have broken pretty much any hose out there that from the same price range.
If you want heavier duty than this, you're almost certainly going to sacrifice flexibility and light weight - and therefore useability. You don't want to fight a stiff armored air hose with your finish nailer as you try to get up into a tight corner.
This one seems to me a very good compromise between ruggedness and suppleness (If I may use such a word without jeopardizing my manliness).
I recommend it. It's absolutely worth the few extra dollars over the cheaper hoses out there. If you're often in a high action area where boards can fall on it regularly, you might want to look into something armored, and maybe use a flex hose on the final 10 feet. But I've never had any trouble with mine. I do keep a little emergency splice kit with me, just in case. But I've never needed to use it.
Wood Junkie March 3, 2008 An excellent air hose. The rubber stays flexible even in conditions I'd rather not be working in myself; you'll never have to fight this hose. Connectors are high quality too. I've bought two, and ought to get a couple more so I don't have to switch tools so much. They're not showing any signs of wear after two years. but I'm not a commercial user.
Good Air Hose February 27, 2008 As advertised--using as a replacement for a PVC hose that was almost impossible to roll up and hang --- This is so much better
Great air hose February 10, 2008 This is a good sturdy hose. It stays flexible even in cold wheather. This is as good if not better than hoses we used in professional garages.
Good quality! Great price! January 17, 2008 I ordered 200 feet of this 3/8" hose to go with a little 5 gallon compressor I bought. That way I can have two nailguns going on a project with a lot of hose length for each one. Amazon had the best price on hose of anywhere I looked and the shipping was free. I have not used it yet, but the quality seems very good. Easily the peer of any of the red rubber hose I'm used to using in construction and different manufacturing industries.
