Power issues over USB August 19, 2008

So far I've noticed that if you use USB only to power the drive eventually it will simply go into a power off/power on loop which over time I believe will destroy the drive. In my case the drive is worth a lot more than the enclosure inside it so maybe I'll just throw it away.
