I must be the only one who hates this booster! July 3, 2006 This is by far one of the most annoying boosters I have ever purchased.
I am trying to find another to replace it so I can finally toss this thing to the dumpster!
To begin with, whichever reviewer said that this booster has no cracks or crevices (which was why I bought the booster in the first place) was entirely incorrect. Not only does it have 1/2 inch gaps between the armrest areas and the blue booster base/frame, but it also has holes in the seat and in the bottom of the base. That means that any little crumb or spill makes its way either through the holes and then gets the whole hollow base a mess and then the chair a mess (which you have to constantly have to lift the booster up to wipe off the chair's seat area and wipe out the booster base - annoying in itself because the rubber grippers that keep the booster on the chair are poked through the base so the washrag always catches inside and you just can't get out all the crumbs because they get stuck by these gripper things) or even worse - spills - roll right down the holes in the seat, right into the holes in the base, and then slowly seep all over your chair and down the floor. Not to mention the gaps by the arms - TONS of food falls down there to remain until you take the thing off the chair, disassemble it all, and clean it out.
This is made very poorly. You shouldn't have to unfasten a booster from the chair, take the whole thing apart, and clean it at the sink after EVERY SINGLE meal.
a not so thrifty mom May 9, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am a firm believer in you get what you paid for. BUT this booster seat is GREAT. I thought the seat may not be good because it was so cheap but i was buying it for my mother's house and said what the hell. I like it so much i'm getting on for my house too (for ten bucks why not).
I must add that my daughter is 4 yrs old and is considered small for her age. (weighing about 35lbs give or take) so i can't say how well it would work on a larger child.
I also don't know how well it was stand the test of time. Then again for ten bucks i won't cry if it only lasts 6 months.
It is NOT good for younger babies because it doesn't come w/ a tray.
Excellent buy! April 2, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My son, has ditched the high chair for this booster seat. He turns two years old this month and is able to get in and out of the booster seat himself. I think he loves his new found freedom. This is also perfect because now when we eat together, he feels part of the family as he is on the same level. I would highly recommend this item, absolutely no regrets. It was simple to assemble, is durable and easy to clean. Excellent!
Best Buy March 27, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The booster seat was a last minute purchase for me but it proved worthy. My son is tall for his age but still needs that extra height to be able to tower over the table. Having the extra height has helped him improve in self feeding. The seat has 3 adjustable heights so even a toddler taller than my son can sit lower and have the added advantage of height and feel confident in feeding themselves.
Great for grandma's house March 23, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this booster! I needed a highchair for my mom's house because we are there so much, niether of us wanted to buy an actual chair so I just got the cheapest seat I saw. Little did I know it was the best purchase I could have made. It's very lightweight. My 2 y.o. daughter can take it to the table herself. We don't use the tray though we just pull it right up to the table. Great booster!
