T-Mobile is currently rolling out its 3G network, and it expects by year's end that its high-speed data network will be available in those cities where a majority of its subscribers currently use data services. Amazing Phone !! Way better than Apple I Phone!!! November 29, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I absolutley love this phone, I am a huge electronic junkie, and this just amazes me...Perfect in everyway!!!
Software for phone needs work as does Samsung Customer Service November 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My biggest gripe with this phone is the bug in the pda software. The input fields are nice, but once one presses save, the software mixes all of the fields up. The address display is a total mess.
The camera is soooo slow that it's really difficult to take any non-blurry photos unless the subject can stay absolutely, perfectly still for SEVERAL seconds.
The battery life does not seem to be anywhere close to what the specs state. I'm charging this phone AT LEAST once per day.
Samsung's customer service was HORRIBLE. Apparently the support staff (located in India) doesn't understand about firmware updates. When they were notified about the software bugs, they told me to send the phone in to see if they can fix it. Since I have this phone on a 30 day trial ---- that's not really an option. All I had wanted to do was to report the bug so that it could be addressed with the first software update...... the Samsung support staff couldn't grasp that concept (I guess it wasn't in their "script"). T-Mobile was able to duplicate my issue on 3 separate Beholds.
There are some features that I really like about this phone (the size, the touch keyboard, the color, the speaker phone use), but I'm so frustrated about the negatives, I may end up exchanging if for the Google phone.
Good Phone November 23, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought the phone about a week ago....I actually went to purchse the G1 but while waiting for a sales person to come help me I noticed the Behold.....started messing around with it and liked it instantly......especially love the 5.0 megapixel camera on it. I liked the looks of this phone better than the G1 because it isnt as bulky.....BIG PLUS FOR ME.....The only thing that I DO NOT really like is the fact that when you are trying to look for a number in the phonebook...it doesnt scroll down very easily....it goes back the letter you need......but all in all I am very pleased with my purchase.
In the Eyes of the BEHOLDer November 23, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Behold was not for me. The touch aspect is so frustrating. I took it back after 2 days. Basically, when you try to scroll anything such as the contact list, it appears very glitchy. It ends up choosing the item instead of allowing you to scroll. Apparently, there is a certain way you have to touch it. I don't really have the time and patience to sit there fiddling with it. I did a lot backing out and retrying. The iphone is a much better choice since it relies on heat sensors. The Behold has touch sensors. I had other family members try it, and it still acted the same way. The only good aspect is that it is pretty and has a nice camera. It's a bad attempt at trying to replicate the iphone. So the bottom line is really in the eyes of the beholder. Do you want a water-downed version of an iphone with cheaper service plan? Or same priced iphone that has better quality but outrageous service plans? It's a tough one.
Hardware awesome software... not so great November 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got the Behold today and after a couple of hours of messing around with it i'm not very amused. It's captivating look made me choose it over the G1 but now i am beginning to regret my choice. Sure the G1 is chunky but i've mesed around with it a bit in stores and it doesn't lag as much as the Behold does. When trying to scroll the applications keep opening up instead of scrolling down.
The text messaging is similar to standard phones. If you are used to the iPhone's threaded texts then the G1 is more convenient
The camera is amazing however that's about the biggest advantage the Behold has over the G1's 3.1 mega pixel camera.
After being used to the iPhone the touch screen appears to respond a lot slower and is a lot rougher than the G1's and iPhone's screen.
If anyone is debating with themselves whether to go for the G1 or the Samsung Behold, I'd say go for the G1 because even though it doesn't look as stunning as the Behold, it's software is a lot better and the android market (like the app store on the iPhone) is a definite plus. In the end isn't it what's on the inside that counts? lol
