2 out of 5 stars Form does not follow function.   January 9, 2009
I purchased this phone right after Christmas and was at the Verizon store three times before 2009 hit. I wanted to like this phone more than anything, it has a beautiful design and is super sleek and thin. I had trouble keeping the battery charged more than 24 hours so I went back to the store and they gave me a new phone, but had the same problem with the second phone. I was not overly using my phone, and had made a total of three calls between the two phones I went through.

I tried to make myself believe that I could deal with the short battery life and that I had just been spoiled by my previous phone, a Nokia, that easily lasted a week between charges. But before the first week was over, I was back at the Verizon store returning it for the LG enV2.
And as others have said, the texting will definitely lag behind the texter if you are at all experienced in texting.

What I have learned from this phone is to investigate a bit further before buying on looks and design. There ended up being a fee to return the phone for another, but it was worth it to avoid the stress of a quickly dying battery.

4 out of 5 stars Great phone, some possible deal breakers   January 1, 2009
Pros:
This phone has a really good camera. Also the screen is more vibrant than on my flip chocolate, the lg vx8600 that was replaced, so pictures look much more vibrant.

Cons:
The texting and some of the menu interface is really slow. Sometimes, the texting will be 3-5 letters behind me since i'm a fast texter. Also the battery time isn't that long. It only lasts me two days max and i don't talk long on the phone at all. If you spend a decent amount of time on the phone you will have to charge it every day. Lastly, the screen could be bigger...

Other thoughts:
If you're someone who texts a lot, prepare to be frustrated by the software being so slow. What makes it so annoying is when i'm using T9, and i forget to change the word to a different arrangement because the texting is so slow, i never see that it was on a different word. If you're not a texter, and looking for a decent, stylish phone with all the basic features, this is an excellent choice. Texting and the low battery life aren't necessarily deal breakers tho.

5 out of 5 stars Great Phone   December 16, 2008
After two weeks I can safely say I am going to keep the Sway. Ringtone/alarm volume is very loud. The vibrate sound would be nice if it could be adjusted but no complaints. Screen is large and clear. The user interface is nice and clean and customizable, meaning the up, left and down can be customized, the right goes to a set of 4 custom settings. ( alittle menu pops up when you hit right)

-Nice set of about 20 ringtones.
-Separate camera button on the outside of the phone
-Camera shutter can be shut off so it's silent (my old samsung didn't allow this)
-SD Micro card slot, I added a 2gb card and I think I can take about 1800 photos at the highest setting: 1600x1200
-Little quirk I found is the door to the card slot pushes or pops the card back out a few times. Seems like either the card is too long or the door to the slot is too thick, it's hit and miss sometimes, right now it hasn't effected it for a few days.
-3 alarms

besides that the call volume is loud and clear which is what I needed just a solid phone. I'm happy with my purchase.

4 out of 5 stars My First Phone   December 2, 2008

Even though this is my first phone, I have to say this phone is amazing.

The speakers are able to play at an extremely loud volume for a phone, which is very appropriate for music playing.

The slim form and aesthetics of this phone are definitely benefits to enjoying it.

My only dislikes are the near requirement to push the phone up by the screen (Causing fingerprints), very little internal memory (50mb according to my phone), and a limit on the amount of text messages allowed in the inbox (

I'm not sure if there is a limit. My phone stops at around 120 messages. I'll try to find a solution for this problem later).

After getting a microsd card, most of the phone's problems go away. =)

5 out of 5 stars great phone   November 14, 2008

I got this phone about three weeks ago and I think it works great. The screen is very clear, texting is easy, it looks good, phone quality seems to be fine. The menus are easy to use and so are the camera and camcorder. The battery seems okay. Verizon says it gets ~4.5 hours use time and 312 hours standby time. The standby time is stretching it a lot. I usually recharge it every two or three days, but I text a lot. Overall this phone is awesome and I would definitely recommend it.
