Product Description The Small Hand held Metal Detector with Audio Alert and Red LED Alert has excellent sensitivity and multiple applications. It can be used flat for a wide scan area or on edge for pin pointing an object. The Unit can be set to alarm with tone and large LED or just the LED.Some typical uses would be:- Security screening.- Construction to locate metal in wood or other object before cutting or planning.- Locate small items lost in grass or sand. Keep one handy in your tool box, car or beach bag.- Also great to use with your treasure finder as a pin pointer. Once you locate a target with a larger metal detector it can be difficult to pin point the object. With this handy detector you can easily narrow down the search area to just an inch or less.Key Specifications/Special Features:- Adjustable sensitivity - LED lights only / buzzer and LED indication - Low battery indication - One 9V battery required- Sensitivity adjustment, can reach up to 5cm for a US quarter - Either only LED lights or Buzzer and LED both indicate when metal is detected.- Low battery alert - One 9V battery required (not included in the product)- Current drain: 8mA ( min ), 60mA ( max )- Operating Waveform: Sine wave Frequency 22.5KHz 10%- Sensitivity: 3 inches for a US quarter- Min. Operating Voltage: 7V DC

Worth the $ February 5, 2008 This very low-cost metal detector was worth it's weight. I used it to find property rods and it worked like a charm. The small size and construction require hands and knees hunting, so if you're a prospector, do yourself a favor and buy something more practical (and more expensive) for your use.
