5 out of 5 stars Good for cleaning pigeon poop   September 13, 2008
We have lots of pigeons in our neighborhood and they love to sleep and poop on framing that is above our windows. Just like gymnasts flipping and spinning on a 4 inch balance beam, I'm still amazed at how those rats with wings can sleep on such a ledge 1.5 inches wide. With children, we never open the windows because of airborne diseases associated with pigeon poop.

To take care of the pigeon potty I bought this angled pressure spray wand. I know a lot of people are knocking it for cleaning rain gutters and I'm sure they are right, but this thing does it job when it comes to my situation.

1 out of 5 stars Gutter Messmaker   February 7, 2008

Useless as gutter cleaner. If the gutters are almost clean it can spray leaves somewhat less effectively than a simple garden hose which because of it's higher volume of water works better. However, if your gutters really need cleaning the high pressure blasts the leaves and slime into the air and onto everything, but because of it's low flow rate it lack's sufficient water volume to move a large amount of debris cleanly down the gutter. Additionally the high pressure can remove paint from aging gutters that a common garden hose would not harm.

3 out of 5 stars Ok, but not a miracle product.   February 5, 2008

I bought this wand for the sole purpose of using it to clean out my gutters. While the concept seems good, it didn't really work out like I had planned, probably because I'm pretty new to the whole gutter-cleaning thing.
The big problem I had, was that unless I was up high enough to see into the gutters, I really couldn't tell what was "going on" up there. I was just standing below, hoping it was working and getting wet/dirty in the process. I did have a lot of junk in my gutters, so if this was used on a regular basis, maybe it wouldn't be a problem. I ended up on ladders/the roof, using the regular wand instead. I then went ahead and bought some cheap vinyl gutter guards, so that I wouldn't have to do this again. I may still use the wand to clean the tops of those off, though.
One last thing: I also bought an extension wand to use for this purpose. Putting the two together can make the spray wand a little hard to control, as it is spraying out at an angle, so far away from your hands.
