Product Description The Hori-Hori Digging Tool was originally designed for excavating aged stock high in the mountains of Japan, where enthusiasts still find prized specimens for Bonsai. The black blade is concave, thick and strong for digging and prying in rocky terrain, with semi-sharp, beveled and serrated edges for cutting anchored roots. Provided with a thick, natural wood handle for a strong grip, and a black, heavy vinyl sheath with leather belt loop. 6 1/2 blade, 11 3/4 overall length

The best tool out there May 12, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have so many gardening tools. But the hori hori is the best for digging weeds and cultivating there is. Easy to handle, will last forever. Nice serated edge to chop the stubborn weeds and their roots.I have purchased several as gifts. I highly recommend this to all the gardeners out there who want a great product.
New Favorite Gardening Tool January 3, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received my first Hori Hori as a gift and wasn't sure what to do with it. Once I started using it for weeding and digging, I now can't work without it. I misplaced my first one and had to immediately buy another because I was lost in my garden without it. (I painted the handle of the second one to make it easier to locate.) I heard a radio interview with a person from the Cornell University Extension Program, and this tool was her top gardening tool as well. This is now one of my favorite gifts to give.

My new knife was a replacement for one that had been lost... and I was lost without one.
