You have three choices with this impressive bionaire window fan. You can suck fresh air in, you can blow stale air out, or you can do an exchange. The digital thermostat displays both the room and the set temperature. If you have a larger window, don't worry, this fan comes with two additional window panels. And you don't even have to get up to turn it on or off, or adjust the speed, since this fan comes with a remote. Now that's luxury!
Amazon.com Review With a remote control for convenient adjustment, this double window fan draws in fresh, cool air from the outside or exhausts stale, hot air from inside. It can also do both simultaneously, because each of the two fans can be set independently to draw in or exhaust out, allowing the unit to exchange inside and outside air. Operable either manually or automatically--with its thermostat turning the fans off and on to maintain a selected temperature--the unit has three speeds, electronic controls, and an LCD screen showing the selected temperature and the room temperature. The remote control (two AAA batteries are included) alters speed, manual/automatic operation, air-flow direction, and temperature. The twin fan is designed to fit double-hung, vertical-slider, and casement windows. A built-in 7-inch extender and two 3-inch extenders permit custom fitting for windows from 24 to 37 inches wide. Because the unit is lightweight plastic it can be moved easily from room to room. The fans have six blades and measure 8-1/2 inches in diameter. Overall, the unit is 13 inches high, arrives fully assembled, and carries a five-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Worth the extra money November 25, 2008 I have had this fan for over 6 weeks. At first I was annoyed at having to spend so much for a simple fan and I felt that the extra features were unnecessary. However, this fan is built like a tank and the extra features have grown on me. The remote is very ergonomic -- one can operate it by feel alone in the dark. The digital temp readout is FUN! The fan motors reverse from intake to exhaust very smoothly. Overall, since fans are not very expensive to begin with, I am glad I spent the extra money to get this really well-made fan.
Great Window Fan October 18, 2008 This is one incredible window fan. I use this fan to cool one particular room during the fall, winter and spring months. The thermostat seems accurate and it keeps the room at a pretty even temperature. I love that I can adjust the fan with the remote. I opened up the fan to see if it was going to experience the problem others had with the temperature sensor. It looks like Bionaire has finally fixed the problem. My sensor wired was covered and place above the circuit board. As stated earlier it seem pretty accurate. This is one great fan and highly recommend it to every one.
Great little fan October 17, 2008 I bought this fan to mainly use in the spring and fall when it doesn't make sense to run the AC. I like my house very cool, especially at night when sleeping. I have opened the windows and just set a fan next to the window and it really didn't work that well. I put this little fan in my bedroom window and set the thermastat to 64 degrees and this little fan worked great, kept my bedroom right at 64 degrees all night long. I did not have the issue with the thermastat that some others experienced. It runs very quiet, and the remote is an added bonus, if I get too cold, I can adjust the temp or turn off without getting out of bed. I highly recommend this fan to anyone.
Keeping cool at the lake September 15, 2008 We now own three of these fans. We use them at our cabin as we prefer not to use air conditioning. They operate much quieter than standard window fans and the light sleepers really appreciate this feature. They haave a few more bells and whistles than needed but they are the best fans we've ever had.
Perfect Window Fan For ANYONE September 13, 2008 This window fan is amazing. I purchased two, one for my upstairs bedroom and one for the downstairs living room. The thermostats work great, so whatever problem other people have had has seemed to be fixed in these later models. Don't expect these things to keep your area super cool, it isn't an air conditioner. The fans make it comfortable to be in a room and circulate the air very pleasantly. My first problem however though was that I had a window that was too big for this item with extensions but the one upstairs only needed one extension and I just moved its second one to the unit downstairs and it fit perfectly. I would imagine if your window is larger than 37 inches, you could contact the manufacturer for more extensions or you could rig something yourself. One of the drawbacks on the remote is that the power button for the fan also controls the fan speed, it covers every other facet of the fan seperately but for some reason not that one. Nevertheless, these fans are awesome, are going to lower my electric bill because I don't need to run the air conditioning as much and keeps the family cool. On high it can be a little loud but after awhile you drown out the noise. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and would gladly buy more for other rooms.
