Amazon.com Product Description A safe, stylish alternative to plastic water bottles, Sigg water bottles are a great choice for transporting beverages on your daily commute or while backcountry hiking. This ultra-lightweight bottle is extruded from a single piece of aluminum and holds 1 liter of fluid (33.8 ounces). Designed to fit your on-the-go lifestyle, it comes with a loop top bottle cap, which can be secured via hook or caribiner clip to a backpack or daypack. Sigg bottles are virtually unbreakable and are constructed with no seams, ensuring a long-lasting, leak-proof performance. They also feature Sigg's proprietary baked-on inner liner, which is made from a non-toxic, water-based epoxy resin that exceeds FDA requirements for leaching (0.0 percent) and is independently tested to be taste- and scent-neutral. Every Sigg bottle is 100 percent recyclable at the end of its life, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. About Sigg It all started with a simple hiker's bottle. Today, the SIGG bottle has acquired cult status. What happened is a success story that started in Biel, Switzerland in 1908. Kueng, Sigg & Cie. manufactured leisure goods, kitchenware, and electrical appliances. The company relocated to Frauenfeld in 1916, where it helped pioneer the legendary tradition of Swiss quality. Since 1998, SIGG has concentrated on its core business: drinking bottles that deliver ultimate customer benefit. Frequently Asked Questions: Q: Can Sigg bottles be used for boiling water? A: No. Strong heat can damage the outer coating. Q: Can dents in the bottle damage the Sigg bottle's inner coating? A: No, the Sigg inner coating is highly elastic. Dents cannot crack or chip the internal lining and the Sigg bottle remains perfectly usable. Q: Can I use my Sigg bottle for carbonated drinks? A: Yes, all Sigg bottle tops provide a 100 percent seal and will not leak. It's recommended that you fill the bottle no further than 1/2-inch below the lip. And before taking a drink, relieve the pressure inside the bottle by gently rotating the entire top. Q: Are Sigg bottles dishwasher safe? A: Yes, but because of the narrow mouth of the bottle, hand washing is recommended. Q: Can a Sigg bottle be placed in the freezer A: No, as this may cause the bottle to crack. However, the bottle can be chilled in the refrigerator.

Sigg VS Klean Kanteen October 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like simple things that work. I don't need all the cool looks or the latest in style. Because of this I bought the Klean Kanteen. Its light fits into my bike water bottle holder great. With one use it got scratched pretty bad, but it was only $15.00...so I'm not complaining. The rest of it is very sturdy.
Prior to buying the KK I wanted to buy the Sigg bottle, but the cost was higher and it has a smaller opening for your mouth, which I didn't think I would like. This weekend my wife purchased the Sigg for me, as s gift, and I've been using it all weekend. It's now sitting on my desk at work and my KK is going back home as a backup.
The Sigg is just as light as the KK and holds more liquid. I don't think the KK had a bad taste at all, but the Sigg is even better. I choose the Sigg because of the form factor. It's just better to drink from. When you pick it up and, put it to your mouth, it performs better. Also, with the lager base it sits better on my desk and I'm not worried it will fall over. The KK is too thin for my daily use.
BTW- I'm not one to worry about the coating and the leaching (plastic or Aluminum) - I don't get into all that and really don't see any evidence that it's going to hurt me in the short or long term. So if you are looking for a great bottle to drink from you can't beat the Sigg.
High Quality and Fun September 30, 2008 The Sigg water bottles are high quality and fun. It's a great way carry around water without buying wasteful bottle water. My only suggestion is that anyone who buys this bottle also get a bottle cleaning brush, otherwise cleaning it well can be difficult.
Another quality Sigg bottle August 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't know how much I can add to the praise here. Nobody makes a more practical, stylish, safer water bottle. The only negative would be that aluminum conducts heat and cold well, so in extreme temperatures getting one of the neoprene sleeves they make for them to keep the liquid cold would be a good idea.
Sigg water bottle worth every penny August 8, 2008 The last time I tried to buy one of these from their web site, Sigg informed me that demand has skyrocketed and they can't offer them directly anymore. Justly so, with the recent findings about the bpa plastic used in water bottles. The Swiss penchant for design is evident even here: clean, streamlined, handsome but utilitarian. Plus they come in all sorts of styly designs to give your day a lift while reminding you how good you feel when you're hydrated. The other reviews note the specs, so I won't tread familiar ground. It's a great water bottle and worth the price.
replace your plastic bottle with this beauty July 30, 2008 After the scare about what you might catch from drinking out of a plastic water bottle, I purchased this one. Because I teach classes, the metal Sigg bottle sits at the front of the classroom. I've had many inquiries as to what that "really cool bottle" was I drank water from. Also, the cold water tastes wonderful in the Sigg, much better than from a Nalgene.
