A well-told tale by a master storyteller July 15, 2006
Kachima Spirit is the story of a young widow with two children who moves to a new town and buys an old house. After purchasing it and moving in, she discovers it is haunted. Her son, who has always loved ghostly things, is thrilled with discovery. She doesn't perceive the eerie manifestations as a threat until a series of strange and terrifying events occurs. The story-within-the-story of a Chumash indian young woman whose spirit seems to be one of the resident ghosts is cleverly woven into the contemporary adventure. Well-drawn characters and an engaging plot make this a book well worth reading.
